Frisco 1630’s Wheel-set Heads for Tennessee!
June 5th, 2008 Posted in NewsOn Thursday evening, May 29, 2008, Matt and Rick loaded 1630’s number 5 drive axle and two tires onto a heavy-duty trailer. Friday morning Matt, and two friends, drove the wheel-set to the Tennessee Valley Railroad in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Tennessee Valley will be resurfacing the axle and putting on the two new tires over the next 4 to 8 weeks.
The axle arrived safely on Saturday. Whilst there, Matt toured the Tennessee Valley shops and took some photos. They too have a McCabe Flanger, identical to ours, and are looking for additional dies for it.
